Toyota RAV4 is an outstanding crossover SUV with great fuel economy, a smooth ride, spacious interior, good-looking exterior design, and good cargo space. It is has great utility, but lacks the comfort, performance, and luxury of the NX 300. Unfortunately, there is also no upgrade to an underwhelming engine that doesn't have great acceleration and is loud at high RPMs. Overall, this is a great SUV and with improved gas mileage as a key selling point, the RAV4 is poised to do well.Â
The new Lexus NX 300 is an eye-turning luxury crossover with a sharp interior and exterior design. The turbocharged engine has a fun kick, while the ride is very smooth and comfortable. The ride feels very upscale and quiet. However, the NX 300 is in need of a technology upgrade and the most modern engines can offer improved performance and fuel-economy versus the current turbocharged NX 300 engine. The NX also includes advanced safety technologies standard. Overall, the NX 300 is a better option if you are looking for more comfort, luxury, and performance. However, if you're focused on utility, fuel-economy, and cost then you may prefer the Toyota RAV4.
